Cross Country

Cross Country at Maywood Hills is our fall team sport.  Practices start as soon as possible after the beginning of the new school year each September.   The season includes four Tuesday meets with other schools in the Northshore School District.     

This program is open to 3rd, 4th & 5th graders of all abilities.  Participants are introduced to the sport of long distance running.  Our elementary runners compete on cross country courses of roughly one half-mile.  Team members learn that distance running takes more than just raw speed, and work on the art of pacing as they build up their physical endurance.

Fall Cross Country Is Back!

Show your Tiger spirit and compete for Maywood Hills!

· All 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are welcome to join!

· Practices are Tuesdays and Fridays starting on September 19, 2025.

· Practice Time: Immediately after school until 4:15.

· Practice Location: Maywood Hills turf field

· Meet Schedule:

 Sept 30, Oct 7, Oct. 14, Oct 21 @ 5:00pm ~ 5:45pm

· Races are approximately ½ mile in length.

· Register online at https://schoolsales.nsd.org. Registration opened Friday September 12th!

Families have two options for registering and paying the fee:

1. Online with a credit card using Touchbase or
2. using the paper registration form and paying with cash or check made out to Northshore School District

REGISTRATION FEE:

The registration fee is $45.00. Free and Reduced Lunch program qualifiers pay $0.00 with no processing fee and will not be asked for a credit card number.

REGISTER/PAY ONLINE:

The registration fee can be paid through the district's online credit card payment system called Touchbase. Touchbase accepts Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. Please note that a $2.95 convenience fee will be applied. Parents/Guardians can reach out to the office if they do not have their Touchbase login information.

Hard copies in English and Spanish are available in the office.

REDUCED SPORTS FEE:

Eligible students with a completed free/reduced meals application and fee waiver form will have a $0 fee. The free/reduced application and waiver form are available on the Food Services page: Free and Reduced Price Breakfast/Lunch. Please complete both forms.

ATHLETIC EMERGENCY INFORMATION FORM:  

All parents must have a completed Athletic Emergency Card / Athletic Emergency Card Spanish and have their student give it to the coach.

The Maywood Hills team/activity shirts are available for purchase from our PTA.  The Cross Country team and the Track team will be using these shirts this school year.  If you are on more than one team, you will only need one shirt, and it is yours to keep.  Please contact the PTA with order requests.
