Monday Math Club

Special note for 2021-2022:

Monday Math Club has been suspended due to COVID-19 constraints.  An on-line version of Math Club has been considered, but so far, does not exist.  If you are interested in that possibility, please contact Mr. Pierce at lpierce@nsd.org with questions or suggestions.

If you are a 4th or 5th grade Maywood Hills student, and enjoy math and logic puzzles, you should check out the Monday Math Club.

  • No homework!  (Unless you want it.)
  • No tests!  (Unless you mean testing your brain power.)
  • Just fun with math!
  • Come as often as you want.

What do we do at math club?

We try math problems and logic puzzles suggested by Mr. Pierce and the kids in the club.  We have had fun with math/logic puzzles.  In the past, we have spent a lot of our time on the website, www.brainbashers.com.  This site provides a lot of challenging puzzles and brain teasers for all ages.

Join the club and share your favorite math/logic puzzles, toys and games with us.

Is this the same as the Math Olympiad teams?

Math Olympiad type problems are one part of Math Club.  Math Club should be considered an off-season opportunity for our Olympiad team.  However, students not interested in joining the Olympiad team are also welcome.

How much does math club cost?

Math Club is free.  Please do not use this club as a daycare service.
