I was born and raised in Woodinville, WA and was educated in the Northshore School District K-12. I currently live in the Bothell community. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Drew, my son, Declan, and our two Australian Shepherds, Cooper and Bella. I love reading books, Seahawks football, and going out to movies and concerts. I am an avid runner and I enjoy traveling and getting to explore new places.
I graduated from the University of Washington in 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and minor in Anthropology. I then went on to obtain a Masters of Arts in Child and Family Therapy from Antioch University Seattle in 2010. I finished my elementary teaching certification from the University of Washington Bothell in June 2013. I was an intern at Maywood Hills under the expertise of Andrea Haas. My first two years at Maywood Hills I taught third grade. I then switched to teaching first grade in 2015 and have loved every minute of it. I am thrilled to continue my journey and hope to share all I have learned with my first grade students.
I have high expectations for each student and I recognize that all of us learn, create, and express ideas in different ways. I encourage students to seek their own unique, creative mode, and to interpret ideas in ways that most appeal to their own nature. It is my hope your child will grow in all academic and social/emotional areas this year. My goal is to build an active classroom in a community based learning environment, where all students can learn together to create culturally responsible global citizens.
